Our Founders Diane Baird is Presidio's Clinical Supervisor. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years experience in assessment and intervention with children and families. She holds a Bachelor's degree in education and earned her M.S.W. from Tulane University Graduate School of Social Work in New Orleans in 1981. Ms. Baird's theoretical base is grounded in attachment theory, family dynamics, and ego psychology. Relationships between parents and children are the substance of Ms. Baird's work and study. She is particularly concerned with the complexities of mother-infant attachments, adoptions, and traumatic relationships. Diane has worked in pediatric, child welfare, and clinical settings. In 1986 -1997 she was employed at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Department of Pediatrics, Kempe National Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect. She teaches and consults nationally in the area of child welfare practice. Diane is an adjunct professor at University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work and Metropolitan State College. She has a part-time private practice in Golden, Colorado. Sherre DeManche has been a Treatment Coordinator with Presidio since July 1996. She is a native of Michigan where she received her Bachelor of Arts from Western Michigan University. She moved to Colorado in 1971. Sherre has certification in Domestic/Family Court Mediation and with the Colorado Dispute Resolution, Inc., in Boulder.Sherre was a Social Caseworker with Sedgewick County Department of Social Services from 1980 to 1992. She met Bonnie and Rex when she made a placement in Bonnie's Reality I Group Home. From 1992 to 1996 she was the Training Director of the Education and Research Institute for Fostering Families at Colorado State University. |
